 Vacuum tubes are not the only audio components
that suffer from distortions caused by microphonic vibrations. Capacitors and other signal-altering
electronics reproduce distorted signals in the presence of microphonic vibrations. Micro-electronic
devices and processors in today's digital gear are more susceptible to microphonic distortion than
some vacuum tubes.
The DAC pictured at left originally had its factory-supplied feet replaced with Navcom
isolation feet, affecting a slight improvement in performance. The Navcoms were later
replaced with "Tenderfoot" isolation feet and the improvement was much more significant
. A reduction of digital distortions results in a much more natural, analog-type musical
realism. If you are using new-generation digital equipment, you owe it to yourself to try
these footers; you'll be amazed at the improvement as your gear delivers a purer,
distortion-free signal, less fuzzy, with less glare. The enhancement is a definite upgrade
to a higher realm of audio appreciation.
These isolation feet will bring out the best performance in all audio and video components
by reducing mechanical and microphonic-induced distortions. Especially effective with
Turntables, CD players, DAC's, Power Supplies, Preamps, and all tube gear. Better than
cones, Vibrapods, Sorbothane, or Navcoms (doesn't dull or enhance resonant
frequencies). As effective, and over a broad range of applications, more effective, than
the finest isolation bearings. Give them a try -- you'll be surprised how great-sounding
your audio equipment already is!
Square Footing will not smudge or leave a residue
Square Footing(tm) footers are formulated to absorb and diminish microphonic vibrations
through intimate contact with the audio component chassis. We recommend four footers
for each component: one under each corner. For troublesome components (with motor
vibration or transformer hum), a fifth footer may be placed under the middle for optimal performance.
