Universal Serial Bus cables Kimber's newest product category
may come as something of a surprise to many of you.
Kimber has just released their new USB cables. Yeah, that's right computer cables, or at least that's what USB cables were created for. The push behind their development of these cables was that high end USB cables could be quite useful for doing uncompressed or lossless downloads to a personal audio player and well as for connecting external sound cards to a computer. Kimber also came to realize the need for high quality USB connection in conjunction with professional recording equipment and software. In other words, a USB cable, which can be asked to transfer various data modes, needs to reliably transfer the data for proper operation. Once they recognized this they set out to create the best USB cable on the market.
Here are some of the features they built into the cable:
- Unusually heavy silver-plated (6.1%) signal conductors.
- Maximum gauge (under USB spec.) signal and power conductors.
- Nitrogen-infused polyethylene signal conductor dielectric.
- Ferrite noise reduction beads on each end of the cable.
